We would like to welcome Tiphaine Legrand as she takes the helm as choral conductor at CAMMAC for the first time.

Tiphaine is no stranger to CAMMAC, as she is the musical director and choirmaster of the Chœur classique de l’Outaouais, who have been frequent guests at CAMMAC in recent years. She has been a passionate choral conductor and teacher for the past 35 years, working with singers of all ages and in a wide range of musical styles. Tiphaine founded Ensemble Kô in 2006, and as artistic director of the group her focus is on exploring the connections between early music and the work of contemporary Montreal composers. She currently conducts several choirs, including the École des jeunes de la Faculté de musique de l’Université de Montréal.

CHORAL REPERTOIRE:

For the weekend’s repertoire, Tiphaine proposes a two-fold look at Renaissance polyphonies and creations by contemporary Quebec composers (from the SMCQ’s “Chantons nos compositeurs” collection), and at the nature of borealia and springtime love, timeless themes in the history of song.

Under the theme of renewal:

Toutes les nuits tu m’es présente (French chanson by Clément Janequin, a polyphonic setting of a poem by Pierre de Ronsard.)
