2020 Bach PLUS Weekend

Full programming details will be available soon.

A Musical Celebration of Spring!

Join us from May 15th to the 18th for a prelude to the summer at the CAMMAC Music Centre.

Come and enjoy three days of exceptional music among friends, in a beautiful and relaxed setting. From Friday evening to noon on Monday, we’ll celebrate Spring at CAMMAC with the return of the Bach PLUS weekend.

We are happy to welcome Mathieu Gaudet as guest conductor, for the first time. A versatile, passionate musician, Mr. Gaudet has pursued a remarkable career as a soloist, chamber musician, and conductor for the past twenty years. Mr. Gaudet is no stranger to CAMMAC, having played at the Music Centre’s Summer Music Festival on two occasions to date.

For singers, the program offers the opportunity to work on their vocal technique. Do you play the recorder? Dive into the music of Bach with the talented recorder and baroque flute player Francis Colpron. In addition, a first at the Bach PLUS weekend: recorder players are invited to play in the Bach Cantata, a very happy and festive work – a sure delight for CAMMAC music lovers!

If you’re coming for chamber music, our teachers Myriam Bernard (piano), Claire Marchand (flute) and Donald Pistolesi (cello) are looking forward to working with you. New this year, both Donald Pistolesi and Myriam Bernard will offer a cello class and a piano class, respectively.

On the schedule for Saturday afternoon: physiologist, pianist and scientific journalist Michel Rochon will present a lecture on link between music and the brain. The Quebecois author published The Brain and Music in 2018, a fantastic odyssey of art and science. You’ve certainly seen him on Radio-Canada television – don’t miss him in person at CAMMAC !

And to keep you in top shape over the weekend, you can relax and recharge with yoga classes!
