BEACH LIFEGUARD – SUMMER SEASON

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a dynamic and qualified beach lifeguard to join our team at our summer camp. As a Beach Lifeguard, you will be responsible for the safety of campers and visitors on the beach, as well as preventing accidents and dangerous situations. You will work closely with our management team to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all.

 

Responsibilities

  • The lifeguard’s duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Keep a close eye on the beach and water for signs of danger or potentially hazardous situations.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, using appropriate rescue techniques.
  • Provide basic first aid in the event of injury or accident.
  • Set up and maintain rescue equipment, such as lifebuoys and rescue ropes.
  • Inform campers and visitors about beach safety rules and potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement emergency plans and safety protocols.
  • Participate in regular training to maintain and improve your lifesaving skills.

 

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a National pool or beach lifeguard
  • 17 years of age by June 30, 2024
  • Strong swimming and lifesaving skills, including the ability to swim competently in difficult conditions.
  • Good knowledge of lifesaving techniques and first aid.
  • Ability to work independently and make quick, informed decisions in emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with participants, visitors and management team.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and holidays, according to camp needs.

 

Conditions

  • On-site camping accommodations with meals provided for the duration of employment
  • Opportunity to participate in music classes offered at the camp, outside work periods
  • Reimbursement of re-certification fees at the end of the employment period (completion of the agreement), if applicable

 

Additional Details

Hours of work: 40 hours per week, 8 weeks during the summer period
Workplace: Harrington, Quebec
Hourly rate: starting at $20.00/hour
Start date: June 29, 2024
