Thanksgiving Banquet & Dance Evening

Following the traditional Thanksgiving Banquet, come and dance some square sets, quadrilles and contredanses to the music of Alexis Chartrand’s devilishly virtuosic violin, accompanied by the master of the guitar DADGAD Peter Senn, and under the direction of the master of the gigue and caller Pierre Chartrand. You will also see some dancing demonstrations that will give you a chance to rest for a few minutes.
An exciting evening of traditional Québec folk dancing that you will never forget!

Teens at CAMMAC

NEW Have you ever wanted to come to CAMMAC without your parents !?!? Have you ever wanted to send your teen to CAMMAC ALONE!?!?
This is your chance: a maximum of 10 teens will be able to attend CAMMAC over Thanksgiving WITHOUT their parents! CAMMAC has an experienced guardian willing to supervise them and give them the opportunity to experience CAMMAC. Broadway, Jazz, Chamber music and more!

Course Description
Wind Ensemble
The wind ensemble is a larger group of wind instruments conducted by one of our teachers. Size and repertoire vary depending on the number of participants. Participants should have a basic ability on the instrument.
String Ensemble
The string ensemble is a larger group of string instruments conducted by one of our teachers. Size and repertoire vary depending on the number of participants. Participants should have a basic ability on the instrument.
Active listening *
This course seeks to develop and enrich the experience of music lovers by acquiring specific knowledge of music. The collective listening of musical works is accompanied by comments by the teacher and can also be enhanced by audio-visual materials. The active collaboration of participants is frequently encouraged.
BROADWAY Singing/Dancing/Acting *:
Have you always dreamt of performing in a musical? Here’s your chance! Have a blast singing and dancing in one of Broadway’s famous numbers. Have 2 left feet? Not to worry. The dancing is easy enough for beginners.
Vocal Technique *
You take voice lessons, you sing in a choir, in your shower or in your dreams? This course is for you! Come experience and explore the universe of vocal art (alignment of the body, breathing, vocal production, nuances,…) Dare to free up your voice so that your can apply your new knowledge in the choir for all!
This course is open to all!
Choir for All with Orchestra *
The Choir for All with Orchestra is open to all participants. For the orchestra, participants should have a basic ability on the instrument.
Orchestra
The orchestra is open to all orchestral instruments. Size and repertoire vary depending on the number of participants. Participants should have a basic ability on the instrument.
Yoga *
Yoga is an activity that favours breathing, concentration and especially the correct alignment of the body. It is an excellent course for all musicians and singers!
Jazz combo
What is a combo? A small jazz ensemble made up of a rhythm section: piano, guitar, bass, drums (one or many of these instruments) and melodic instruments: trumpet, trombone, clarinet, saxophone,violin etc…
Voice masterclass
The participants will sing a piece of their choice each day, accompanied by a pianist (provided by CAMMAC). The teacher will work on different aspects of interpretation (breathing, vocal production, diction, style, musicianship, presentation, etc…) in the presence of all other participants in a supportive and constructive atmosphere. You will then be a witness, during the weekend, of the evolution of all the other singers. Come and share with passion for singing and register as a participant! Please note that you will also learn a lot as an auditor.
This course is open to participants and auditors.
*Please note: For this course, the participant must have prepared a short piece (2 -3 minutes) and should bring 3 copies of his chosen piece (one for the pianist, one for the teacher and one for himself/herself).
Recorder
The recorder course is for intermediate and advanced players. Two levels will be offered. Participants deepen their knowledge of recorder technique and the art of playing together in a group while exploring a varied repertoire.
