Catherine began her musical studies at the piano. She earned a diploma in classical piano at CEGEP St-Laurent under the tutelage of Yves Davignon. She continued her training at UQAM, in popular accordion, where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in music education. Passionate about music education and pedagogy, Catherine Tardif has been teaching classical piano in private lessons for over 12 years.

After her studies, she taught music to elementary students of the Commission scolaire Marie-Victorin. In 2012, she founded La Clef des sons Music School on Montreal’s South Shore, where piano, guitar, violin, choral singing and musical awakening for the very young are taught. In 2014, she created an album for children, “Les comptines de Tuladi”, as well as a pedagogical activity book for early childhood centres. She has been teaching at the CAMMAC Music Centre’s summer camp since 2017.

Her interest in active pedagogy has led her to begin training in alternative pedagogy and to frequently renew her teaching materials. Dalcroze, Orff and Waldorf pedagogies are at the heart of her teaching.
