
Karine Turcot has studied psychology, sociology, photography and completed a Master’s degree in art at Laval University. Recipient of several awards, her creations have been seen at Art Mûr, ORANGE, the Carrefour international de théâtre de Québec, the Biennale d’estampe contemporaine de Trois-Rivières, the Biennale internationale de performance du Chili (DEFORMES), the Month of Performance in Berlin (MPAB) and her booklets have been sold at the New Museum and the Chelsea Museum in New York.
Approach:
Her practice is centred around the notion of movement and the way we establish categories of perception and even definitions (individual and social) that we attribute to the things around us. Demonstrating great versatility, she creates in various mediums, including silkscreen printing, installation, sculpture, photography, animation, book, drawing, ceramics, scenography, and performance.
