After obtaining the Prix avec Grande Distinction from the Conservatoire de musique de Québec, Mélanie went on to perfect her skills in Europe and Chicago. Mélanie is currently a lecturer at Université Laval and a professor at the Cégep de Ste-Foy, and has also taught at the Rimouski Conservatory for several years.
She performs with the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec, the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, Les Violons du Roy, the Orchestre Métropolitain among others, and across Canada, in the United States, and in Belgium for the 2018 International Clarinet Congress.
She has received grants from the Conseil des Arts et Lettres du Québec, Domaine Forget, and the Musicians’ Guild (AFM). She won first place in the Canadian Chamber Music Competition and an Opus Prize in 2015.
