Multi-talented keyboardist, conductor and composer, Nick Veltmeyer crosses many borderlines from conceptual creation to high level performance, community building, and arts advocacy. As founder of Aureas Voces, an indie early music company whose productions build bridges between early classical music, settler folk music, the contemporary stage, and digital media, Nick’s work has been an important part of the changing classical music landscape in Canada. His most recent work, entitled Jimmy and Rosalia: a Folk Opera, blends the written and oral cannons by fusing the work of G.F. Handel with material from the Helen Creighton Collection.
