Patricia Abbott has taught at the CAMMAC Music Centre since 1991 and was Artistic Director from 2009 to 2016. She conducts the Chorale du Gesù, the English Montreal School Board Chorale, the Ensemble vocal Cantivo and Les Voix du Carrefour. The choral music artist-in-residence at FACE School for 11 years, Pat also served for 16 years as the Executive Director of the Association of Canadian Choral Communities (now Choral Canada). She has shared her passion for Canadian choral music in workshops, competitions, festivals and conferences across North America, in Europe and in Argentina. Pat is a course lecturer at the Université de Sherbrooke and also taught choral conducting at McGill University for 16 years. Pat holds a master’s degree in voice performance and vocal pedagogy from McGill, as well as degrees in history (Carleton) and journalism (Concordia). She is the recipient of several awards for her choral work. Thanks to CAMMAC, she is now also an avid amateur recorder player!
