
Canadian violinist Marcus Willem Scholtes recently graduated with a Doctor of Music degree in Violin Performance at Indiana University where he studied with renowned pedagogue Mimi Zweig. He also holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan, and an Honours Bachelor of Music degree from McGill University. Marcus has performed internationally appearing as Concertmaster of the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra in Germany, and also as a member of the Aldeburgh Strings ensemble based in England. An accomplished pianist, he regularly performs solo recitals on both instruments and maintains a strong presence in the KW region. He currently teaches at the Wilfrid Laurier University String Academy, and has performed at many of the concert and recital series in the area.
