Born in Port-au-Prince (Haïti) and raised in the Saguenay region, writer and music lover Stanley Péan has published twenty-five books of various genres and styles (novels, short stories, essays, fiction for young readers), since 1988. A screenwriter, literary translator and cultural journalist, he hosts the weekday evening show Quand le jazz est là on ICI Musique, Radio-Canada’s music channel. His most recent book, De préférence la nuit (Éditions du Boréal, 2019), won the Prix Victor-Barbeau from the Académie des lettres du Québec and was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Awards.
