Bach Sing-Along
at the CAMMAC Music Centre

Sunday October 8, 2023

Join us for a day of song and celebration!

As part of CAMMAC’s 70th anniversary celebrations, you are invited to come spend a day at the CAMMAC Music Centre during Thanksgiving weekend. Come sing choral melodies by Bach under the direction of François Ouimet during a 90-minute choral workshop.

PLUS… If you’d like to stay for the whole day, you can choose to have lunch on site, then you spend the afternoon relaxing while enjoying the enchanting landscape or join a group for a hike in the mountains. Afterward, enjoy a cocktail while listening to a jazz concert performed by Kate Wyatt and Adrian Vedady, and attend our 70th-anniversary banquet and Thanksgiving Ball, directed by Marie-Nathalie Lacoursière.

Please note that advance reservations are required and spaces are limited, so reserve today!

The Thanksgiving Ball will be hosted by Marie-Nathalie Lacoursière, and her partner Bobby Thompson (Les jardins chorégraphiques).

Participants will have the opportunity to learn three dances during the evening:

  • A 16th-century pavane – danced to Fabritio Caroso’s Celeste Giglio.
  • A 19th-century waltz – danced to a Chopin waltz.
  • A Paris 1920s/30s inspired tango – danced to Por una Cabeza (Carlos Gardel; Alfredo Le Pera).

Marie-Nathalie and Bobby will perform each dance, and then teach the dance to participants.

You are invited to attend the ball in costume (not obligatory), either in 16th century Renaissance style or Parisian fashion from the 20s and 30s.
