MUSIC:

  • Your instrument(s) and sheet music for any pieces that you’ve chosen to work on while at CAMMAC.
  • Rosin, reeds, extra strings, etc. – any musical supplies you think you’ll need. A very limited supply of musical items is available at the tuck shop, but there are no guarantees that we’ll have what you need.
  • Notebook, music notation sheets and pen/pencil.

PERSONAL AND PRACTICAL:

  • Bathing suit, beach towels and personal flotation devices.
  • Bedding and towels are provided in each room, so no need to bring these, unless you would like to have extra towels and washcloths handy.
  • Insect repellant and suntan lotion (please do not bring aerosol sprays).
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Your medications (the nearest pharmacy is in Lachute, a half-hour away)
  • Beach sandals / flip-flops (for the shower)
  • Oscillating fan – it can be hot at CAMMAC during summer. Please note that fans ARE NOT PERMITTED in the Lake House, due to the age of the electrical system.
  • Masks, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes
  • Personal toiletries: if you forget something, basic items are available at the Tuck Shop and there is a small depanneur a few minutes away in Lost River. There is a Walmart and major pharmacies a half-hour away in Lachute.
  • Additional useful items: flashlight, phone/laptop chargers, something to read, headphones, snacks that don’t require refrigeration, alarm clock, tote bag, band-aids, ear plugs.

CLOTHING:

  • Keep it cool, casual and comfortable! You might also want to bring something a nicer outfit for the concerts and cabaret evenings, but most people just come as they are.
  • Sweatshirt/Sweater: even though it is usually hot during summer at CAMMAC, it can get cool at night, so bring some warm clothing.
  • Light jacket: useful for rainy days.

ALCOHOL PERMIT

CAMMAC has a permit to sell alcohol. You are therefore not allowed to bring your own alcohol into the cafeteria or any of the public areas.

 

INTERNET / WIFI

A free Wifi network is available in the Main Pavillion, with limited access outdoors near the building. There is no password to access the wifi: CAMMAC-GUEST.

 

KAYAKS AND CANOES

You may bring your own kayak or canoe to CAMMAC, however, you must have your boat pressure washed before arriving, to avoid the spread of invasive species into Lake MacDonald. The boat wash station is located at 2811 Route 327 (at the fire hall). All boaters who do not comply with the obligation to wash their boats may be subject to a fine imposed by the municipality.

 

LAUNDRY ($)

A washer and dryer are available in the refrigerator building in the campground.

 

LOST AND FOUND

CAMMAC is not responsible for items lost or forgotten. If you realize you have forgotten something, please contact customer service. If we find your lost item, we can mail it to you at your expense. Please note that all items remaining in lost and found at the end of summer will be disposed of.

 

NURSE

The nursing station is located in room 207 of the main building. A board indicating where the nurse may be found at any given time is posted near the reception desk.

 

RECEPTION / TUCK SHOP

Open every day during summer. Hours are limited during other programs – the hours will be posted on the door. You may purchase meal tickets (if you don’t have a meal plan), snacks, cold drinks, ice cream, recorders, musical supplies, paper, and toiletry articles. A selection of t-shirts, hoodies, and postcards is available as well.

The tuck shop offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at a reasonable price: local microbrewery beer, specialty coffees, and a selection of SAQ wines are available. You may run a tab during the week only if you are 18 years of age and over, but please remember to pay it before leaving.

 

SMOKING

Smoking is prohibited in all buildings, including practice studios and bedrooms, as well as on the beach, on the tennis court, and near any game areas. Because we are a family camp, smoking is discouraged on the property. It is prohibited to smoke within 9 metres of all doors and windows of all buildings on site.
