How do I get there?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The CAMMAC Music Centre is located approximately 112 km (about 90 minutes) northwest of Montreal and 155 km (about 2 hours) northeast of Ottawa. The Centre is situated on Highway 327, approximately 30 minutes north of Lachute. Options may include choral singing, introductory instrument classes,\u00a0active listening, yoga, tai chi, visual arts classes, dance, and other activities, depending on the week.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"1006\">Adults accompanying a child or teenager who do not wish to take a class will be charged the applicable chaperone fee.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;12&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What other activities are there?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Participants may use the tennis court, relax on the beach, swim in the lake, canoe, paddleboard, kayak, or hike on the grounds. We also have an extensive collection of board games and movies.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;12&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Is the site accessible to people with disabilities?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Main Pavilion is fully accessible. It includes an elevator and four adapted residential rooms.\u00a0If you require accessible accommodation, please indicate your needs when registering so that we can assign an appropriate room and make necessary arrangements.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;12&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>If I come to the Music Centre by myself, will I make friends?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Many participants attend on their own. CAMMAC has long been known for its welcoming and collegial atmosphere. Over the years, many lasting friendships have been formed here, and some participants return year after year to reconnect with friends they first met at the Music Centre.<\/p>\n<p>The structure of the program creates regular and natural opportunities to meet others: shared meals, classes, rehearsals, and evening activities all contribute to a strong sense of community, making it easy to become part of the life at CAMMAC, even on a first visit.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;12&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What does a typical week at CAMMAC look like?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;32&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>ARRIVAL \u2013 SUNDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1964\" data-end=\"2208\">Participants arrive Sunday afternoon and check into their rooms or campsites.<\/li>\n<li>Children meet their teachers at 5:00 p.m. to receive their schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Dinner is served at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria (campers prepare their own meals at their sites).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2210\" data-end=\"2368\">At 7:30 p.m., adults meet in the main hall to confirm class selections and registrations. This is also an opportunity to ask questions about course placement.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2370\" data-end=\"2553\">Later in the evening, participants receive the music for the week\u2019s major choral work and take part in the first reading session.<\/li>\n<li>An evening snack is served before the end of the day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;32&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2555\" data-end=\"2577\"><strong>MONDAY TO SATURDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"2579\" data-end=\"2711\">Classes begin after breakfast. Each class is 50 minutes in length.<\/li>\n<li>Lunch is served at 1:00 p.m., followed by a mandatory quiet hour.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2713\" data-end=\"2838\">Afternoons include additional classes and time for personal practice or recreational activities such as swimming or canoeing.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2840\" data-end=\"2974\">The children\u2019s program runs on a parallel schedule, with structured classes in the morning and supervised activities in the afternoon.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2976\" data-end=\"3195\">Evenings include concerts, participant performances, rehearsals, and optional activities such as social dancing and campfire singalongs. Rooms must be vacated by 9:00 a.m.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3394\" data-end=\"3511\">For those wishing to prolong their experience, at 11:00 a.m. a concert is presented by a guest artist as part of the Musical Sundays Concert Series, followed by brunch. A morning coffee break and snack, as well as an evening snack, are included.<\/p>\n<p>Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free meals are available if requested in advance. We make every effort to accommodate food allergies and dietary requirements, but your needs must be indicated in advance on your registration form.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5873\" data-end=\"5985\"><em>Please note that buffet-style service is no longer offered due to government food service regulations.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;12&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Does the Centre have a liquor license?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Yes. Alcohol consumed in public areas (concert hall, dining room, reception area, verandas) must be purchased on site. This restriction does not apply to the campsite.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;12&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<h3><strong>I don&#8217;t have a car, how can I get to CAMMAC?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Please note that due to logistical and financial challenges, we are no longer able to offer a shuttle service from Montreal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Instead, for the summer music program only, CAMMAC will \u00a0facilitate ride-sharing among participants.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have registered for your week, you will receive the Part 2 registration form, on which you will be invited to indicate whether you can offer a ride or are seeking one.
