Programming in Week 8 draws on cross-cultural musical traditions from around the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n Rhythm and cultural variety set the tone, giving energy and direction to a program that includes a diverse choice of classes and workshops, from chamber music and choir to jazz improvisation and combos. A songwriting workshop gives participants the opportunity to collaborate with others or develop individual projects, and a sound recording workshop provides hands-on experience in audio production. Featured pieces include Paul Halley’s A Freedom Trilogy<\/i>, the traditional Acadian song Grain de mil <\/i>(arranged with foot tapping by M. Rabatel), Kirby Shaw’s A Celtic Dance<\/i>, and a Piazzolla tango arranged for choir. Participants can collaborate with others or develop individual projects, with coaching available throughout the week.
