CAMMAC Toronto Region caters to music-lovers and amateur music-makers who live within a 100 km radius of the Toronto area. We offer various activities (for singers and instrumentalists) throughout the year, opportunities to meet other music-lovers through learning, playing and enjoying music. Are you looking for places to perform in and around the Toronto area? Live Music for Live Audiences can help you make contact with audiences in retirement and nursing homes, hospitals and libraries. Help to brighten the day of people who perhaps do not get out much. See the link below under Playing Opportunities for more information and contact Gerald Martindale, the co-ordinator of the group.
Monthly Readings let you read through different works, usually with choir and orchestra together; but occasionally for a cappella choir or orchestra only. The first half of a Reading is a “mini-rehearsal” and, depending on the length of the work, in the second half the work is often run as if it were being performed.
Classical, jazz and world music workshops are held for singers, instrumentalists and dancers. Come learn something in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Five issues of the Toronto Region Newsletter are available electronically. Issues feature articles about music that will be played at forthcoming Readings, provide additional background on the music, and review past Readings. In addition, readers learn about music groups, composers, and conductors of interest.
Each issue provides an opportunity for CAMMAC Toronto Region members to announce upcoming musical concerts and activities as well as CAMMAC news and classified ads.
