Joseph Visseaux is a versatile professional percussionist active on Québec’s music scene as a performer, educator, and researcher. Equally at home in classical, contemporary, jazz, and popular repertoires, he brings a broad artistic range to his work.

A first-prize winner at both the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne soloist competition and the OPMEM concerto competition, he has performed with leading ensembles including the Opéra de Montréal, the Orchestre Philharmonique et Chœur de Montréal, and the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec, as well as at the Montreal International Jazz Festival.

He holds both a master’s degree and a doctorate in performance from the Université de Montréal, where his research focuses on transcriptions of André Mathieu’s works for marimba.

Deeply committed to education, he teaches percussion and develops innovative pedagogical projects. At the same time, he is pursuing training in classical voice and was recently admitted to the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal.
