Known for her sensitive and flexible playing, pianist Geneviève Jalbert appears regularly in concert with soloists and ensembles. For several years she has worked as a collaborative pianist at FACE school (Vocal Department), McGill University, Marianopolis College, Choeur classique de Montréal, and CAMMAC (Lake Macdonald Music Centre). She was rehearsal pianist for Lakeshore Light Opera, McGill Savoy Society, and several choirs. In 2014 Geneviève was musical director for Compagnie Baroque Mont-Royal/Opéra Qu’on Sert’s production of Don Giovanni. She is a founding member of the vocal collective Liederwölfe, whose goal is to democratize opera and classical vocal music. She also maintains an active teaching career. Geneviève completed her Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees at McGill University, where she studied with Michael McMahon and Richard Raymond. She is the recipient of a Canada Council grant as well as several scholarships from McGill University.
